Haida Gwaii Family Support Group: Cut, Paste & Process

August 13, 2024 @ 6:00 pm - 8:30 pm

Are you concerned, or impacted, by a family member or close friend experiencing symptoms associated with a persistent mental illness or substance use?

Haida Gwaii Mental Health Family Resource Centre – BCSS offers Support Groups for family members and close friends looking for support, connections and community.

This month we will be introduced to Junk Journaling, a creative form of storytelling where memories, pictures, drawings, aspirations and intentions are stored. Like our stories, the themes are unique and speak to our experiences or simply an aesthetic. It’s a free-form cut-and-paste pastime. Pizza dinner included.

Led by facilitators with lived experience, our support groups are a safe place to ask questions, share concerns and find comfort – You are not alone.

We acknowledge that the lands on which BCSS operates and supports families are the traditional, ancestral, and unceded territories of the First Nations, Metis, and Inuit Peoples. We are honoured and privileged to live and work on this land we all share. We are committed to reconciliation, decolonization, learning from and with Indigenous peoples, and building relationships within our communities.
